Antonio De Rosa (the genius designer behind the iPhone 5 mock up) has come out with a concept design for an Instagram Socialmatic camera, that takes POLAROIDS THAT ARE STICKY! The camera looks just like the logo and has nifty features like Wifi and Bluetooth, 16 GB of storage, a 4:3 touchscreen (as Instagram takes square pictures), 2 different lenses, a QR code reader, and can be used as a webcam.
Someone please give this guy money or pick him up cause I NEED THIS!
As if Facebook wasn’t a giant monster already it continues to eat up smaller mobile app based companies to achieve mobile domination. This time its Glancee a new mobile app that helps you discover and connect with new interesting people literally around you. So if your walking in the street and one of your friends passes by and has his feature it will notify you. Scary huh! The app became popular in this years SXSW festival along with Highlight, a similar app. Now Glancee is under Facebook’s wing and privacy can be more and more obsolete.
So stalkers get ready to have an easier life with thanks to the wonderful Mark Zuckerberg!

Although this is primarily a social media blog this week I will pay tribute to the great Adam Yauch a.k.a MCA from The Beastie Boys who passed away from cancer last Friday May 4th. The Beastie Boys are pioneers of the hip hop music industry. They broke boundaries and changed the hip hop game by introducing different genres such as rock, punk and electronica to the hip hop world. They played a numerous amount of instruments and were very hands on with their work. MCA also founded a film production and distribution company. He was a leader, an inspiration and a legend. He will be missed.
Mix a little Instagram with important breaking news around you and you get the new app Signal. Signal is the brainchild of Citizen Journalism’s CEO Mark Malkoun. “Initially, Twitter and Facebook were designed to get news from people or brands or celebrities,” Malkoun told Mashable. Malkoun says it will be the new face of how people receive their news on social media. “Now, if something is happening say three miles away from you, say something really important, Twitter won’t systematically inform you unless you follow someone who happens to be there.” With Facebook you need to be subscribed to other peoples page to receive news or you can find it through Twitter by searching hashtags or following someone but Signal will make things easier by emphasizing quick and easy photojournalism. Users capture media that they upload to the app with a geo-tagged location and a short caption of around 60 characters. And if a lot people are covering the same story, the app pushes the photos together so that they areclassified under the same story. Since I love Instagram I think this is going to be super successful! It makes things easier for the world and news fun in a way. Would you all prefer this app to Facebook or Twitter?
Yet another informative picture. Todays topic “How Technology is Ruining Todays Youth”. Yes I may sound like a grandma on this one but today’s modern teenager is plugged in at all hours and with great use of technology comes the downfall of grades. Its affecting their smarts people. Privacy is a foreign word to them and face-to-face interaction is replaced by a text. My fear of technological world domination may come true with this generation as an army. No Bueno!

Remember when getting internet money for submitting a video on Youtube or any other video sharing site was a joke and you would wait till you were blue in the face to get it? Well the time has come for that joke to become reality but only with a little help from your friends =). A new partnership between video platform Dailymotion and social micropayment startup Flattr lets you show filmmakers some love with a bit of cash. Flattr buttons will begin appearing next to Dailymotion content, giving you the opportunity to donate to your favorite creators. Love a video, a blog an educational site? Flattr that person and give them some credit by throwing a little cash there way even if it is 50 cents.
This is pretty awesome because it gives these people some sort of revenue which they deserve after putting hard work into their craft and sharing it with the world. It is also not forced but a choice of the viewer so the content will not loose popularity. I’m gonna approve this one and say great job fast paced technology, you did good.
This ones for all you fellow actors and actresses out there. Brit actor Benedict Cumberbatch used his iPhone to get a role in the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel to Star Trek.
Cumberbatch heard that Abrams wanted him to audition for the role in Star-Trek via videotape. The only problem was that he was vacationing in England at the time and he didn’t have anyone to film his tryout. So who I mean what did he turn to help, the trusty iPhone of course. Benedict became director and actor at the same time and filmed his audition on his own. Abrams said that the iPhone recorded performance was “one of the most compelling audition readings I’d ever seen.” Needless to say Cumberbatch got the part.
Who needs to go to readings anymore when you have that trusty iPhone of yours. Life just keeps getting easier for the acting world. (Sarcasm)
The 2012 Race to the White Houseis becoming one of the most expensive campaigns ever. More money is being spent on social media because of its high impact on the world now-a-days which is smart! Look at what Obama’s tech savvy and social media friendly campaign got him, the privilege of being president Hopefully this picture explains the ins and outs of who is spending what this time around.
Incredibly talented and soon to be master of the world Mark Zuckerberg has found a new way to out do himself. Now not only can you share your whole life on Facebook but you can help save a life by making your organ donation status public to the public. The new feature can be found on your Timeline under “Life Event” followed “Health and Wellness”. If you are currently not an Organ donor you can register to be one through the link provided on your Facebook page.
Zuckerburg explained that he was inspired by all the Facebook pages that use the site to make a difference so he wanted to a add a feature that will do the same. The old I have a heart trick, not too sure how I feel about it yet. It can either be a great idea that will truly help the world and make it easier: which it has with 6,000 people already jumping on the bandwagon or a new invasion of privacy that has linked the government more into your Facebook page and provided them with bigger trackers on us. Hmmmm lets see how this pans out. What do you think?

Hello blogging world!!! My name is Ana which rhymes with banana and I am new to this whole blogging thing. I am a New York native that you can find on the streets of NYC, which is very rare now-a-days. I love being outdoors, traveling, photography, music, singing, reading, shopping ( who doesn’t), acting, dancing, most things that end with -ing. I am currently a student at City College majoring in Advertising and Public Relations which brings me here. To be honest I never saw myself on a blog site. Although I should be super tech savvy and on every social media site I have a love hate kind of thing going with it. I hate it because I can’t keep up with all the new stuff that appears everyday, I think it invades everyone’s privacy, its ruining our youth and technology scares me because I think it will lead to the world destruction but I love it because it keeps you closer to the ones you love and you can get information faster and easier, pretty much the world is at your fingertips. I have started this blog only because I was forced to as a class assignment but who knows maybe I will love the experience. I will be providing social media news daily, well as much as I can, and put my personality into every posts be it with my thoughts on the news, some photography and the occasional song.
